Custom Orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look similar to insoles, but are biomedical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot while you walk. We understand that everyone is different, which is why custom foot orthotics are made just for you.
3D Printed Orthotics
Manufactured With Precision
With 3D scanning thousands of data points precisely capture the shape and movement of your feet. Advanced technology enables our podiatric physicians and surgeons to design the perfect orthotic. Lattice design provides the most corrective and comfortable fitting orthotic you will ever experience.
Lightweight, Comfortable & Durable
3D printed custom orthotic lattice design allows for the perfect amount of stiffness & flexibility to optimize function in each part of the foot, without the bulkiness of other orthotics on the market. The lightweight, lattice design optimizes comfort for sport, work & daily activities.
Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing
3D printed custom orthotics dramatically reduces production waste compared to manual manufacturing. 3D foot scanner technology eliminates landfill waste from casting materials and the carbon emissions associated with shipping. Non-toxic, bio-compatible 3D printing powder is recycled to optimize usage and minimize waste.

Surgical Corrections of Foot Disorders
In most cases, invasive methods are not necessary to correct many foot disorders. Though in more extreme conditions, surgery may be required. The need for surgery will depend on the severity of the condition, the amount of pain the patient is experiencing, and the patient’s past response to various treatments.
Sports Medicine
We know how much your foot health can impact your athletic performance, and it is our priority to help get you off of the sidelines and back in the game. Whether you are dealing with a recurring injury or an accident from the big game, we are here to support you through each step of your therapy. Below is a list of some of the most common sports and sports-related injuries we see in our office:
- Martial Arts and Kickboxing: Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, sesamoiditis, and ankle sprains. Proper stretching is vital to injury prevention, specifically, a minimum of 15 minutes before beginning exercise.
- Aerobics: With 26 bones in the foot and impact forces reaching up to six times the force of gravity, proper shoes are essential when participating in aerobics. Shoes must provide shock absorption and proper cushioning, as well as stability.
- Team Sports: Baseball, basketball, soccer, football, field hockey, and lacrosse often lead to foot and ankle injuries. Artificial surfaces, improper footwear, and inadequate stretching are recipes for disaster.
Wound Care
Ulcers on the foot may not always come with pain, but they are serious conditions that should be evaluated by a medical professional. The symptoms of ulcers may include drainage, or red, inflamed tissue. To properly diagnose and develop a treatment plan x-rays may be ordered.
Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT), sometimes referred to as ESWT or Shockwave Therapy, is clinically proven and one of today’s most advanced, non-invasive technology for treating lower extremity pain.
In as few as 3 weekly 5 to 10 minute sessions at Northwest Foot and Ankle, you could be able to return to your favorite sport or activity. Treatments can be uncomfortable, but are tolerated by everyone.
Problems Treated By EPAT
- Chronic heel pain
- Achilles tendonitis
- Plantar Fasciitis
Benefits Of EPAT
- Non-invasive
- Faster, easier healing
- Over 80% patient satisfaction
Diagnostic Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a very effective tool for diagnosing a wide variety of foot and ankle problems, particularly soft tissue problems. Ultrasound uses sound waves on the body in a way much like radar uses sound waves. The waves hit a targeted area and are bounced back to a recording device, which produces an image. Ultrasound is a completely safe, noninvasive, and painless diagnostic procedure.
Common Problems For Which Ultrasound May Be Prescribed Include:
- Bursitis
- Heel spurs or plantar fasciitis
- Morton’s neuroma
- Injuries of the ligaments, tendons, or cartilage
- Presence of foreign bodies
- Soft tissue masses
- Tarsal tunnel syndrome
- Tendonitis or tears in a tendon
Therapeutic Injections
Therapeutic injections are a minimally invasive pain relief treatment commonly used to relieve the discomfort caused by inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and tendonitis. These injections provide direct treatment to the affected area, which offers more centralized relief and little to no side effects. They should be given only as needed because over time these injections can lead to a break-down of tissue.
These injections are typically given with local anesthetics such as lidocaine, which also functions as a pain reliever for the affected area until the corticosteroid begins to take effect.
Effects Of Therapeutic Injections
Not everyone responds the same way to injection. Some patients do not experience any relief from one injection while another may experience relief ranging from days to months to years. How a particular patient responds is often difficult to predict and some patient’s need more than one injection to achieve their treatment goals.

MLS Laser Therapy
Get Rid Of Foot Pain Without Drugs, Shots, Or Surgery
MLS Laser Therapy is an effective, painless treatment for all types of pain relief that has been cleared by the FDA and proven successful as evidenced by extensive and credible research studies conducted in our country’s finest institutions, including Harvard Medical School.
The laser is a dual-waved synchronized fully robotic MLS Laser. It uses specific wavelengths of light that have a strong anti-inflammatory, anti-edema effect on tissues that are exposed to the laser. As a result of the MLS Laser, the cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles repair themselves faster.
In simple terms, laser energy kick-starts the healing process, thereby speeding recovery. So no matter if you have long standing pain from prior surgery, injury, arthritis, or you have a new injury our laser therapy has been proven to work.
Here is what you need to do now. Call our Renton or Silverdale office to set-up a consultation to see if MLS Laser Therapy is right for you.
